Southeast Asia’s premier game convention, GameStart 2017 will return this October with more content than last year!
GameStart 2017 returns for its 4th edition on October 14 & 15, 2017, with a Cyberpunk theme and more consumer-friendly and industry-centric contents. In addition, Eliphant as the organizer partners up with International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA). They will organize the 2nd edition for SEA Awards, and SEA Summit business conference on October 12 & 13, 2017.
Gamers and industry players can look forward to the annual event’s returning, as well as the new and exciting contents, such as showcases of upcoming blockbuster games, eSports, indie games, and a cosplay event.
New additions include a large GameStart Tabletop area to play, discover, and compete on a new and well-loved Tabletop and arcade-style games. Key exhibitors include Wizards of the Coast. More information on the GameStart Tabletop activities can be found on the official site.
This year, the region’s most popular conventions will join forces at GameStart. In addition to partnerships with Taipei Game Show (Taiwan) and BEKRAF Game Prime (Indonesia), C3 Anime Festival Asia comes in as a co-marketing and content partner.

Returning to GameStart 2017 is Doujin Market, Singapore’s largest community curated youth arts, and illustration fair. In partnership with Neo Tokyo Project, Doujin Market is back with almost double the number of tables.
Equally important, visitors can also look forward to meeting and appreciating the game cosplay by Astro Kerrie and Yasemin Arslan from Australia. Evolve Perth, one of the pop culture partners of the event will sponsor Astro Kerrie. The Evolve Perth will also be co-sponsoring the cash prize of GameStart’s Game On! Cosplay Runway.
On the AR, organizers announced that NexRealm will bring the world’s first augmented reality techno sports, HADO. HADO is the first eSports based on wearable devices and AR technology using head mount displays and motion sensors. Just like real-life sports, the game does not restrict the player being in front of a screen too long. Visitors will get the chance to try the “Player VS Player” matches at GameStart 2017.
Indies and Start-ups to Return to Founders Base
Another favorite is Founders Base, GameStart’s special indie area. This area offers subsidized booths to individuals, start-ups and small companies that create or work with games. In this area, visitors can try a wide array of games made in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
