Here’s the top 5 Indonesian Steam/PC Games based on total owners (estimated based on SteamSpy data).
Mobile games are still the favorite platform among Indonesian game developers. Publishing a mobile game on Google Play Store or iTunes App Store is much easier and cheaper than publishing a PC game, especially on Steam.
Looking back a couple months ago while Steam Greenlight existed, the PC game developers must pass several stages before they could publish their games. They started by submitting the game and then continued to campaign their game. If the community like the game, they get Greenlit that means one step closer to final release.
Now, Steam Greenlight is gone. It has been replaced by Steam Direct that bypass the campaign. Indie developers only submit their game, pay the submission fee, and wait for approval from Steam. Much easier than before.
