The first batch of key speakers for the 2017 SEA Summit Conference is announced! This inaugural event is one of the chains of events held in GameStart 2017, which will be followed by the 2nd IMGA SEA Awards ceremony.
The SEA Summit is a new B2B conference for the Southeast Asian game industry players and will be held in Pixel Building, Singapore, on 12 and 13 October 2017. Jointly organized by IMGA and Eliphant, the summit aims to facilitate knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration opportunities among companies based in Southeast Asia, and those looking to enter the region. Henric Suuronen (Co-Founder, Nonstop Games)
Henric Suuronen is a gaming-focused angel investor and co-founder of Nonstop Games, a Singapore-based mobile games start-up acquired by King. Henric started his mobile gaming career at Nokia in 2003.
He later worked as Director of Digital Chocolate and Head of Studio at Wooga before co-founding Nonstop Games in Singapore. His investments include Huuuge Games, Futureplay Games, Ministry of Games, Traplight Games, PlayRaven, Omniata (acquired by King) and Tasma Bioenergy in Singapore. In total, his investments have raised >$70M in venture financing. Henric holds double master’s degrees in Computer Science and Business.
Oliver Kern (Growth @ Kuuhubb OY)
Oliver Kern is a noted growth hacker and mobile marketing guru and has helped app companies ranging from indies to market giants like Rovio and Wargaming. In his more than 20 years in marketing and advertising, he has marketed hundreds of casual, core and MMO games in the online and mobile space.
Currently, he grows audiences and revenues for the portfolio companies of Kuuhubb OY, an investment company for lifestyle apps and games and serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Lockwood Publishing, the creator of the virtual 3D world AVAKIN LIFE. Next, to that, he is a board advisor and a mentor for a number of mobile game startups.
Oliver has been working for many years as a consultant in mobile marketing where he kickstarted mobile UA for companies such as MAG Interactive, flaregames, EightPixelSquare and Hutch Games and worked with great teams at ProSieben, Rovio, Wargaming, Next Games and others. Before that he held leadership positions at iQU, JAGEX and IPlay/Oberon Media.
Teck Lee Tan (Senior Technical Artist, Bandai Namco Studios Singapore)
Teck Lee Tan got his start in the industry as an artist. Teck always loved dabbling with programming in his free time, and eventually merged the two disciplines as a Technical Artist.
With a wide variety of interest areas, he currently plies his trade building tools, writing shaders, automating pipelines, and wrangling procedural content generation.
Seow Tein Hee (Executive Editor, tech360.tv)
Seow Tein Hee is the Executive Editor of tech360.tv, a regional online tech TV channel that brings you the latest tech news and trends.
Tein Hee started his tech journalism career with HardwareZone and The Straits Times since 2007. In 2013, he joined Haymarket Media to build the company’s presence in Asia as the Online Editor of the gadget and tech website Stuff.tv Asia.
Often referred as the fairest (in the context of both opinions and skin tone) geek of them all, he is an early adopter of all things tech and has a particular fondness, or perhaps a weakness, to new gadgets.
Zhi Liang Chew
Zhi Liang Chew is a purveyor of fighting game esports content at major tournament broadcasts such as EVO, ELEAGUE, ESL and SEAM. When he’s not swimming in a hot bowl of ramen, he’s prowling the alleys of Harajuku for the latest in streetwear for Freshstock.
Alaric Choo (Partnerships and Technical Director, Secretlab)
Alaric Choo is a former semi-professional Starcraft II player and knows first-hand the importance of a comfortable, well-supported computer chair. He is currently the Partnerships and Technical Director of Secretlab.
When he’s not working on new products in his secret lab, he is out securing new partnerships with other brands and influencers.
Febrianto Nur Anwari (Senior Editor, Duniaku.net)
Febrianto Nur Anwari is the Senior Editor of Duniaku.net, the biggest game and pop culture media in Indonesia. He started his career in game industry as a game journalist since 2008 and was one of the initial members of Duniaku.net since 2011.
His biggest interest is local game developer scene. Currently, his mission is to spread the news about Indonesia’s game industry to both local and international game and creative industry’s enthusiasts with a brand new site, which is still a part of Duniaku.net’s family, called Gameprime.asia. He believes Indonesian Game industry will advance rapidly and be well-recognized globally through the development of Game Prime.
