Have you heard about Postknight? It is South East Asia’s best mobile game for 2017. It was named the best game during the International Mobile Gaming Awards Southeast Asia (IMGA SEA) 2017. So we wanted to take a look ourselves how good the game is.
Postknight is chosen as the best game overall during IMGA SEA 2017 held on October 13th. Out of all the 300+ games to be chosen, Postknight came up to be victorious. So what made the game from Malaysian game developer, Kurechii so special? We took some time with the game and here is our review.
The story of the game is quite simple, but unique. You are playing as a postman delivering mails from one person to another. But you are also a knight who fights against monsters and enemies while you deliver these mails. That’s why the name of the game is Postknight (it took us quite a while to finally realize).
There are a lot of unique missions in this game. First, you have your original story which basically is completing all the maps and successfully delivering all the mails while you level up. But there are also side quests that refresh every 24 hours. There is also a ranking system where you can become an A-class or an S-class Postknight when collecting enough Postknight Token.
There are also side quests where you have to deliver weird items such as stove, bed, and other big items that are not imaginable. But this is one thing that makes this game worth a smile.
The gameplay of the game is what really makes this game so special. It introduces a unique fighting style that no other game has. You basically encounter enemies while continuously moving forward. During this moment there are three types of control down at the bottom. There is an attack icon called Charge, shield icon for defense, and also a potion icon for healing.
Charge is an attack skill where your character dashes forward with pace and damaging all enemies struck. There are various skills you can choose that fit your play style. During level 1, you will get a skill called Assault Boost. This basically means that when you charge, you will perform higher damage, and when you stun an enemy, the damage is doubled.
The shield icon is for defense or using the shield to prevent from getting high damage from enemies. Whereas the potion icon simply is for regaining your health. One thing to note is that when you level up, there will be more skills you can collect and make use of.
Of course, there are cooldowns for all of these actions. You can reduce the cooldown, increase the damage or reduce the damage using specific items that enemies drop.
The sounds that the developers offer are underrated and deserve to be mentioned. The simple easy going music suites really well for this game. During combat, the music takes us to another environment. Whereas while in town, you will feel more relaxed than ever.
Postknight reimagines the best parts of role-playing games into bite-sized bits within an exciting delivery adventure. Designed to be an enjoyable RPG for those on-the-go, Postknight is optimized for mobile devices: from content to controls, for hardcore and casual players, to time spent in and out of the game. Instead of spending long hours to experience the highlights of an RPG adventure, Postknight delivers it in small yet exciting pieces.
