Previously, we wrote an article regarding game streaming services based on data we received from Streamlabs. Adding to that, we will create game streaming predictions for 2018. What games will continue to rise? What streaming channel will gain more success?
Our game streaming predictions for 2018 will be divided into four categories:
Mobile Games Will Continue to Rise
With the hype of Mobile Legends, Vainglory 5 vs 5 and Arena of Valor, mobile gaming had a huge lift in terms of streaming viewers. Streamlabs even predicted that Tencent’s Honor of Kings (which is Arena of Valor in Indonesia) will boost the gaming industry.
But it is also fair to say that games such as Rules of Survival and Garena’s Free Fire Battleground will also bring in mobile gaming in the live-streaming category. We also believe that there will be more mobile games coming in 2018 that will be as hype as games from 2017.
Youtube Gaming Better Than Twitch ?
As we previously stated in our article, Youtube Gaming saw a whopping 343% growth in monthly active streamers for the year. Although its progress is huge, Youtube comes as the second biggest stream platform after Twitch.
These two streaming platforms go back at it. It also seems like Youtube is seriously aiming to go forth its arch-rival, Twitch. But we feel that Twitch will still be in the top when 2018 ends. This is due to Youtube’s monetization rule they previously announced.
It is the start of 2018 and gaming industry looks more promising, especially in the streaming category. A well known Streaming service, Streamlabs has released data regarding the increase of streamers in all big platforms, including Twitch, Youtube Gaming, Mixer, Facebook Live, and also Periscope.
The Overwatch League opening week had a total of more than 10 million viewers worldwide on various streaming platforms. The new league system definitely brings positivity to the streaming industry. The platform is also predicted to be the source of views for eSport league.
Overwatch League has just started and it started with a bang! More than 10 million people from all streaming platforms watched the Overwatch League opening week.
Live Streaming Will Continue to Rise
In conclusion, streamers, tipping, and viewers will continue to rise on all platforms. Streamlabs reported that each year from 2016, these categories have seen a rise of 25% and are predicted to keep going in 2018.
