Twitch has already introduced Cheering feature. However, it is set to integrate with the Overwatch League. The goal is basically to cheer for streamers, but in this case, a certain team. Fans are encouraged to cheer with Bits, Twitch’s virtual currency. As a result, they will be granted the following rewards:
- In-game hero skins with a timed exclusive window
- Twitch chat emotes
- Team-branded loot
- A Cheer leaderboard
Although it encourages streamers to spend money, the money does not go to the respective teams. Rather, it will support the partnership between Overwatch League and Twitch which makes it an interesting system.
Overwatch League Tokens
It’s hard to get Overwatch League Tokens without having to pay. This feature basically is a feature where players can get in-game skins by collecting 100 Overwatch League Tokens. Now, Overwatch League viewers can link their Blizzard account to Twitch to get a free token.
In addition, some viewers can randomly earn 100 tokens (enough for one skin). So, the more you watch, the more possibility of getting these tokens. When you gain enough tokens, you can immediately enjoy your skin in the game.
However, these features have been confirmed to be available for only a couple of countries such as Argentina, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States. Indonesia and other countries are expected to come in the near future.
