SEMISOFT will continue their journey to console with seed funding support from Discovery Nusantara Capital (DNC).
Another great news from Indonesian gaming industry comes from SEMISOFT. The Jakarta-based studio that recently released Legrand Legacy for PC announced that it secures seed funding from DNC!
“This brand new partnership opens up a whole new chapter in our journey,” said Henry William Winata, SEMISOFT’s CEO in the official statement. “We value DNC’s wide expertise in the games industry hence this new venture is invaluable to us. This marks a new milestone for SEMISOFT in creating quality games for gamers all over the world,” he continued.
SEMISOFT is planning to utilize this DNC’s additional resource to port Legrand Legacy to all major consoles. As we reported before, after being released in PC on January 24, 2018, Legrand Legacy: Tale of the Fatebounds will also be released on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later on. They also plan to continue developing new games.
SEMISOFT is the fifth Indonesian game studio to receive funding from DNC. For the past two years, the fund company has invested in Touchten Games, Toge Productions, Arsanesia, and OMNIVR. It also gave funding to two Indonesian gaming websites, Duniaku Network and Revival.tv.
Legrand Legacy itself is the debut title from SEMISOFT. It is an RPG (Role Playing Game) that took inspiration from the most successful 1990’s JRPGs (Japanese Role Playing Game) such as The Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy and Suikoden.
When will they release the console version?
According to the Steamspy, in only two weeks this game has been owned by more than 2,800 players and gets “Mostly Positive” review on Steam. Gameprime.org team also reviewed this game and we thought that Legrand Legacy is one of the best Indonesian developed games yet.
Still no release date for the console version of Legrand Legacy. But according to their statement last year, the console version will be released a year after the PC version, which means it will be released sometime in Q1 2019.
Congratulations for SEMISOFT!
