It’s a wrap! Google’s Indie Games Contest winners have been officially announced. Curious to know which games won? Find out the winners of Google Play Indie Contest in the article below.
Bury Me, My Love
The winner of Google Indie Games Contest is Bury Me, My Love. The game tells a story of Syrian refugee Nour and her husband Majd. Majd is in a war zone in Syria taking care of his relatives as Nour seeks refugees in Europe.
The couple can only communicate using their phones, and this is where the game plays. You make decisions by informing each others’ actions. The decisions you make are crucial to the progress of the couple.
The developer of the game Playdius did a really good job in polishing the game. We believe that Google solely choose Bury Me, My Love as the winner because of the gameplay. It’s due to the fact that the game does not have the best graphics, but it’s guaranteed to have a good story (based on your decisions of course).
Old Man's Journey
Old Man’s Journey was Gameprime.org‘s choice to win it all. But finishing in second place was also a good result for the team. The game developed by Broken Rules Interactive is an adventure game featuring an old man.
You will play and go through his memories. You have to interact, solve puzzles, and create the path for the old man. What makes this game so good might be the eye-catching graphics.
Another runner-up game chosen by Google is Yellow. It’s a simplistic puzzle game with a unique gameplay. Your objective is to make the screen all yellow in all 50 levels. The game developed by Bart Bonte has an almost 5 stars review in Play Store from almost 50,000 reviewers.
The game is also the most downloaded game compared to Bury Me, My Love and Old Man’s Journey. That is the reason why we believe Google chose this game as runner-up. The other reason might be because of its relaxing music.
