The 14th International Mobile Gaming Award (IMGA) Global was a blast. Now the organizer confirmed that the 3rd edition of IMGA SEA and IMGA MENA will be launched shortly.
The 14th IMGA ended just a month ago. Between the call for entries in October 2017 and the Awards Ceremony last March 20, a lot happened.
This year developers from 48 countries submitted more than 1000 games to the IMGA: including VR, AR games, and almost 200 unpublished games. Then, the online judges selected 175 nominees. It was then the task of the 22 onsite judges to play these games and to choose the winners.
This year was exceptional: the jury could not agree on the selection of the Grand Prize winner. All the nominated games were excellent, but none of them could beat the others. This was the second time in the 14 year history that this happened.
These outstanding games were revealed on March 20 in front of more than 500 people attended. The ceremony was followed by an unforgettable party sponsored by Yoozoo. You can read more about the 14th edition of IMGA Global winner here.
And now, the organizer is ready to kick off the next event. The organizer announced that the 3rd edition IMGA SEA and IMGA MENA will be launched shortly. The call for entries will open in May and welcome all mobile games made in these regions.
Remember that your game must have been released between May 2017 and May 2018. Unpublished games are more than welcome too. You will be able to submit your APK or send a TestFlight invitation when submitting your game to the official website.
Will the 3rd edition of IMGA SEA and IMGA MENA be held in the same country as last year?
Last year, the 2nd edition of IMGA SEA was held in Singapore to coincide with The SEA Summit and GameStart 2017. Around 65 games across Southeast Asia and Taiwan joined the final judging session and were shortlisted to find 13 winners from 13 different categories.
For the 2nd edition of IMGA MENA, it was held in Amman, Jordan as part of the Jordan Gaming Summit. Around 52 games from across the Middle East and North Africa were selected to join the final judging process and shortlisted to find 11 winners from 11 different categories.
The 14th IMGA Global winners were already announced. Surprisingly, there is no game worthy of the Grand Prix award title for this year. What does it mean?
