Nazara Partners with Indonesia’s Developer Touchten to Publish Games in the Middle East

By Muhammad Bilal Syahrir

Hopefully, with this partnership, Touchten can motivate other developers specifically in Indonesia and South East Asia to do the same.

Indian gaming company, Nazara partners with Touchten, a game developer from Indonesia. The partnership includes publishing games in Arab and the Middle East.

Report from Pocketgamer.biz reveals that the deal between Nazara and Touchten is in the form of a multi-year and multi-game partnership. Additionally, these two companies will focus on cooking games.

Remember, Touchten is known for its cooking games Chain series, such as Warung ChainRamen Chain, and also Japan Food Chain. One of the most notably was Warung Chain, which won the number one game in Google Indie Games Contest 2017.

Touchten and Nazara will develop a new cooking game called Dessert Chef. The title was officially launched on April 20, in India, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. The game is expected to launch globally this month.

Nazara MENA CEO Savio Saldanha states:

“We are excited to announce the launch of ‘Dessert Chef’ a mobile social game developed by Nazara in partnership with Touchten that caters to the local audience, offering them a unique gaming experience. With Touchten, we believe that this partnership will bring new, innovative gameplay and delightful content for cooking fans.”

Touchten Co-founder, Rokimas Soeharyo adds:

“Emerging markets are not a mere afterthought for us. We are positioned to build a presence in the Middle East, right from the start. This partnership with Nazara enables us to secure distribution for our localized game. With celebrity tie-ups through Nazara, we look forward to bringing innovative gaming content to our audiences”.

Touchten, which is one of the top gaming company in Indonesia seems to be knocking on the international door. Being a developer who collaborates with other foreign companies in publishing games to enter a specific market is not something Indonesian developers can easily do.
