When we see a lot of PC games coming for mobile, Super Evil Megacorp does things differently. Their popular MOBA title, Vainglory is officially available for PC. For those who are curious, you can download the Alpha version for Windows and Mac straight away.
Unlike other mobile-to-PC games, Vainglory for PC is not using an emulator. It is literally like a PC game such as Dota 2 or League of Legends. Previously, we have seen a lot of games ported from PC to mobile. These games include Hearthstone, The Talos Principle, This War of Mine, PUBG, and Fortnite.
However, Super Evil Megacorp claims that it likes to do things “unoriginally”. Now the game is officially a competitor against two MOBA giants: DOTA 2 and League of Legends. The question is, will it become a success or a failure? We try to analyze.
Looking at the game itself, Vainglory is different from Arena of Valor or Mobile Legends. Not different in terms of gameplay, but different in terms of what it feels to play. Vainglory is a MOBA with higher graphics performance.
Whereas Arena of Valor and Mobile Legends try to limit the game’s storage space. This is because their main target audience is not those who use high-end devices, which we see a lot in Indonesia.
So if you put Vainglory which already has high graphics performance to PC, you will not be as disappointed. People can also play on the go or play on their PC if they feel like it. This sense of flexibility is something no other MOBA games can offer.
Arena of Valor officially becomes a tournament in Asian Games 2018 this August. The announcement came from The Indonesian Minister and Youth Affairs representative, Tommy Kurniawan.
You can basically use your same account both on PC or mobile. However, Vainglory will not be able to compete against giants who already thrive in the PC MOBA genre despite the fact that it will definitely make their community happier.
Do you think it will be a success?
