Duniaku.net lost its crown as the number one Indonesian game website for the first time in more than 4 years as a new name swooped in. Who are they?
Congratulations for Duniagames.co.id for successfully making their way to the first place with Alexa Rank 78 or 20 ranks higher than last month’s.
This Duniagames.co.id‘s achievement is the result of its consistency of trying to raise the rank every month. In June, they still in rank 198. Since that, it has been slowly but surely climbed up the rank. This is the opposite of Duniaku.net‘s rank which continues to decline since June 2018, from 61 to 113 now.
Another surprise comes from Gamebrott.com as it also made a significant jump from rank 659 to 304 and continue its impressive performance since the last 3 months. With this new rank, it successfully beat GGWP.id and took the fourth place. GGWP.id itself goes down to the fifth place with Alexa rank 543, from rank 317 last month.
Definition of Video Game News Websites
Defining video game websites is not that simple. Every site has its own uniqueness and composition. There are sites that have wide-range of topics and cover topics outside gaming (like Duniaku.net, Jurnalotaku.com, etc). There are also sites that only focus on one game or one specific genre (like Revivaltv.id and Hasagi.gg).
In this ranking, video game website is defined as:
- A site that covers game only
- A site that includes games in its top category, that has articles, videos, or images as contents.
- A site that was established in Indonesia and has nation-wide coverage.
This list is also limited only to games websites & blogs that have been tracked by Alexa site evaluators. Furthermore, sites that are included in this list have to be active, which means they must at least published one article in the past week before the data compiled.
How Accurate Is This?
Because it is based on prediction, the data shown is not 100% accurate. This data is taken from Alexa.com, based on their proprietary tools.
Even though it’s not 100% accurate, Alexa’s data is one of the most used data in industry benchmarking, thus, it has strong authority to quantify traffic from a site.
Alexa.com’s data is updated every day. The movement of the data can also be significant each day. Because of that, data shown here is more of a snapshot of Alexa rank in a day, September 5, 2018, to be precise.
Is This Ranking Comprehensive?
No. Alexa only provides the list of top 500 sites from Indonesia. Other than that, it is based on personal research.
So based on the definition above, these are top 15 game media in Indonesia according to Alexa ranking, September 2018 edition.
