Finally, PlayStation 4 Will Support Cross-Platform Play

Sony finally has some good news. PlayStation 4 will support cross-platform play. This definitely creates smiles to all PlayStation 4 gamers. 


After waiting for so long, Sony finally has some good news. Yup, the PlayStation 4 will support cross-platform play. The decision by Sony definitely creates smiles to all PlayStation 4 gamers.

The President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, John Kodera wrote on PlayStation’s official blog that the PlayStation 4 will support cross-platform play. According to the blog post, Sony has started implementing the beta feature on Fortnite.

If you’re not familiar with the cross-platform play, it basically lets players using one platform to play with other players using a different platform. In this case, PlayStation 4 users will be able to play with Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Mac operating systems.

After their competitors, Xbox and Nintendo promoted cross-platform play, many fans were eager to push Sony although the company already allowed PlayStation 4 users to play with PC players.

“We recognize that PS4 players have been eagerly awaiting an update [with regard to cross-play], and we appreciate the community’s continued patience as we have navigated through this issue to find a solution,” reads a post on the PlayStation blog.

“We see the Fortnite beta as an opportunity to conduct thorough testing that ensures cross-platform play is best on PlayStation while being mindful about the user experience from both a technical and social perspective.

Sony To End PlayStation Vita Production in Japan 2019

Sad news for all PlayStation fans. Yup, Sony will end PlayStation Vita production in Japan next year. Does this mean no more handheld console in the future? 

“This represents a major policy change for Sony Interactive Entertainment, and we are now in the planning process across the organization to support this change. We will update the community once we have more details to share, including more specifics regarding the beta timeframe, and what this means for other titles going forward.”
