Southeast Asia’s premier game convention, GameStart will come again in Singapore this year. GameStart 2018 will mark its five consecutive years and will be held again in Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore on 13 and 14 October 2018.
As the main organizer, Eliphant prepared new contents for this year’s event. One of the biggest additions to this year event is an area called AFA Play inside C3AFA that was already held earlier September in Indonesia. AFA Play also marks the first attempt for GameStart to expand its business in Southeast Asia.

Lot of games!
Every year, GameStart always provides lots of new games to be played. This year, some of the biggest game companies will come and exhibit their latest games, such as WB Games who will bring LEGO DC Super-Villains, and Cygames who also will hold a Shadowverse tournament. For the first time, Walt Disney also joins this event.
Not only digital games, like the previous year, GameStart 2018 also provide a dedicated area to play tabletop and board games.
eSport and chair race
SEA Major 2018 will be back, and you can compete in some of the fighting game tournaments. Some major tournaments such as Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals, Tekken World Tour Master, Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour SAGA will be held in the two-day event.
Alongside the fighting games, GameStart 2018 will also hold Shadowverse SEAO Contenders Cup that will be participated by four best players from Southeast Asia & Oceania. The winner for the tournament will get a chance to represent Southeast Asia in World Grand Prix, Japan and compete to win US$ 1 million total prize.
The Secretlab Grand Prix is back. This year, the race will be held for 2 sessions on 13 and 14 Oct, and the competitor with the fastest timing EACH DAY will bring home their own Secretlab Omega Stealth Gaming Chair!
Lot of cosplayers!
Cosplay, once again, will be a major element in GameStart 2018. Not only just come for fun, but all cosplayers can also compete in Cosplay Runway that will be held on 14 October. If you are interested, you can register yourself through this form.
Some of the SEA developers will take part in Founders Base, a dedicated area for indie game developers who want to showcase their latest game. Two of them are the BEKRAF Game Prime Awards 2018’s winners from Indonesia, Critical Forge and Toge Productions.
Critical Forge will bring the Forged of Blood latest demo. Then there is Toge Productions, ready to bring some of its published games such as Ultra Space Battle Brawl from Mojiken Studio, Surabaya which was already released on Nintendo Switch and PC.

For the first time, GameStart 2018 will conduct an intensive masterclass for two days, 10 and 12 October 2018. Two world class game artists will share their knowledge in this workshop.
First, there is Jacqueline A.X Jocson, Art Director, Concept Artist & Instructor from Academy of Art University, San Francisco who will teach on 10 October. Then, on 12 October, there is Carlo Arellano, Art Director from Super Evil Megacorp who will teach about character design.

Fans of the New Japan Pro Wrestling should be getting excited because Kenny Omega will also come! Kenny is a New Japan Pro Wrestling champion and one of the best Street Fighter tournament’s commentators.
