Gamescom 2019 Delegation Profile: Agate

Agate is an Indonesian game company labeled as the biggest Indonesian game development studio. Established in 2009, Agate has more than 200 employees to date, mostly in its headquarter in Bandung.

Agate began with the simple premise of fun by encouraging people to “Live the Fun Way” as they always do every day. As a game developer, Agate is not only developing games for entertainment purposes for every platform but it’s also developing serious games for corporate learning purposes.

During one decade of its experience, Agate published hundreds of game in any platform. Some of its notable titles are Football Saga, Up In Flames, and recently, Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story which also marks Agate’s debut in the console.

Gamescom 2019 will be Agate’s second participation in an international event this year under Archipelageek program from BEKRAF and AGI. Last March, Agate was also part of the Archipelageek program in Game Connection America 2019 (GCA 2019) San Francisco.

“From GCA 2019, we got several potential opportunities such as Southeast Asia mobile game publishing partnership with game companies from China and Taiwan; and Global mobile game publishing partnership with game publishing companies from China, US, and Europe,” said Shieny Aprilia, the Chief Marketing Officer of Agate. “We also got new game co-development with companies from Japan and the US,” she continued.

For Gamescom 2019, Agate will bring some of its released and ongoing projects: three mid-core games (eSports Saga, Metal Brave Arena 76, Ciayo Stories), two casual games (Teka Teki Santai, Onet Asli) and also one untitled project for the console.

“In Gamescom 2019, we want to find global publishing partners for our upcoming games: eSports Saga, Ciayo Stories, Metal Brave Arena 76 and an unnamed console game project,” Shieny said. For the released games, Shieny also mentioned that Agate’s casual games will go international. “Also, to find global publishing partner for our casual games that are also going to the global market: Teka Teki Santai (will be released as “Crossword Go” for English-spoken market) and Onet Asli (the English name is still ongoing),” she explained further.

Through Gamescom 2019, BEKRAF and AGI Ready to Bring Indonesian Games to Global Market

Indonesian games will reach the global market through Europe's biggest game convention, Gamescom 2019 with the support from Archipelageek program.

Not only finding a global publishing partner for its games, but in Gamescom 2019 Agate is also looking for some potential mobile games to be published to Southeast Asia. “We will publish those game under OOLEAN initiative, an initiative between Agate, Melon and Telkom,” she ended.
