This year marks the third iteration of SEA Game Awards. Held to coincide with Level Up KL 2019, SEA Game Awards 2019 aims to recognize and celebrate the creativity, artistry and technical genius of the finest developers and games from around this region in addition to uphold creative and technical excellence in the Southeast Asian video game industry.

In this third year, SEA Game Awards 2019 received around 93 game submissions from all across Southeast Asia. And then, some of the jury members from Southeast Asia’s game journalist shortlisted the number to 50 nominations that went through the final judging. On Tuesday, 5 November 2019, they also did the final judging to choose the best game from 9 different categories.

After the final judging, Gigabash from Malaysian’s Passion Republic successfully grabbed four awards, Best Technology, Best Game Design, Audience Choice Award, and the highest achievement, Grand Jury Award. Meanwhile, Indonesian developers Freemergency shone and got two awards, the Rising Star Award and Best Innovation.

Once again, Mojiken Studio from Indonesia grabbed the Best Visual Art with its latest title, When the Past was Around. They will release the game sometime next year, but now you can start to play the first prologue for free.
